Boston Bruins teammate releases major update on Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci
When David Krejci and Patrice Bergeron made their return to the Boston Bruins last season, it pushed the Bruins to the best season in NHL history. Unfortunately for the Bruins their season ended at the hands of the Florida Panthers in Game 7 of that first round. As the Bruins left the ice you could see the emotion on Patrice Bergeron's face.
With the Stanley Cup now handed out and free agency just 10-days away there has been little update on Bergeron's status with the team. However today The Athletic released an update on the Bruins off season. In the process The Athletic spoke to a Bruins player, who asked to remains anonymous.
That player offered this statement:
One teammate, who requested anonymity because of his respect for Bergeron and Krejci, told The Athletic he's not counting on either being back.
This isn't a positive sign for the Bruins. Given their current salary cap situation bringing Bergeron and Krejci back would be a huge help from a salary structure, but if neither player returns it could be a very long season for the Bruins.
