Breaking News - NHL Department of Player Safety announces hearing for Detroit Red Wings forward
Last night the Boston Bruins defeated the Detroit Red Wings 5-1. Despite claiming victory it appears that the Bruins may have also suffered a loss of their own. In the 1st period of the game, Bruin's forward David Krejci received a hit from Red Wing's forward Michael Rasmussen.
While the original hit was clean, on the follow through Rasmussen's stick comes up and strikes Krejci in the head. On the play Rasmussen was awarded a 2-minute penalty for high sticking.
While many felt this hit play would likely be a non-issue the league announced this morning that Rasmussen will be brought forward for a hearing with the league.
Detroit's Michael Rasmussen will have a hearing today for High-sticking Boston's David Krejci.
Krejci did not return to the game and the Bruins announced that he would not return to the game last night. It will be interesting to see how this unfolds, but this seems like an odd play for the league to review.
