The Vancouver Canucks have struggled mightily to begin this season. The Canucks are 0-5-2 to begin this season and have shown absolutely no positive signs. The Boston Bruins are on the alternate end of the conversation having gone 6-1-0 to start the year.

Tonight the two teams have come to terms on a trade that will send former 2nd round pick Jack Studnicka to the Vancouver Canucks.

The Canucks announced the full terms of the deal via their Twitter account.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that forward Jack Studnicka has been acquired from the Boston Bruins in exchange for goaltender Michael DiPietro and defenceman Jonathan Myrenberg.

In 38 NHL games Studnicka has scored 1 goal and added 6 assists. The Canucks send DiPietro the opposite direction. DiPietro had previously asked for a trade after seeing his route to the NHL close with the emergence of Thatcher Demko. Jonathan Myrenberg was drafted by the Canucks in the 5th round of the 2021 draft.
