Breaking News - Ottawa Senators close to sending forward to playoff contender via trade
The National Hockey League Trade Deadline is fast approaching and as the Ottawa Senators continue to toil in absolute mediocrity Tyler Motte's name has surfaced as a potential move the team will make ahead or on March 3rd, according to Hockey Night in Canada's Elliott Friedman.
While it seems like Ottawa is in the phase of a never-ending rebuild, moving Motte may make sense to the franchise who will likely miss the playoffs for the sixth straight year.
Motte a veteran of 307 career games split between Chicago, Columbus, Vancouver, and New York Rangers, and now the Senators could be a fit on Broadway as they push towards a long playoff run.
The Left Winger from St Clair, Michigan has six goals along with one assist in thirty-two playoff games and could be a perfect depth forward for a team that hasn't tasted from Lord Stanley since 1994.
If the Rangers don't make a push for Motte's services, a number of playoff-bound teams will likely be knocking on Pierre Dorion's door to see what it will take to get a deal done.
