Breaking News - Serious allegations made against Ottawa Senators forward
The Ottawa Senators had a very successful summer. Pierre Dorion was able to sign players almost at will, but one player he was unable to get under contract was Alex Formenton. Formenton was a member of the 2018 World Juniors team accused of sexual assault and many people assumed that was why.
Now Ottawa area sports reporter and former NHL executive Shawn Simpson has thrown some gasoline on the fire. With the Senators experiencing injury issues, some thought this could be a window to get a deal done but Simmer shot that down immediately.
While many felt Formenton's involvement in the potential sexual assault was the reason he's unsigned, one Twitter user shares that is not the case. According to this unverified report the user claims Formenton is not involved, but has proof of others who were and is being black balled because of it.
Allegedly, Formenton has proof that high profile players presently under contract in the NHL are involved. In legal circles word is that Formenton will never be able to come back to the NHL. The "Big Boys Club" is still alive and kicking.
The NHL claimed they were close to an end to this investigation and we should see a conclusion in the very near future. Formenton was a 2nd round pick of the Senators back in 2017, and scored 18 goals and 32 points last year.
