Breaking News - Update on Patrick Kane's future in Chicago
The Chicago Blackhawks took an interesting approach ahead of this years NHL Draft. The entered the day yesterday with no picks in the 1st round, but ended the night with 3 selections. The Blackhawks moved both Alex DeBrincat and Kirby Dach to the Eastern Conference and acquired Petr Mrazek and the Maple Leafs 1st in a trade as well.
After trading both DeBrincat and Dach, the General Manager of the Blackhawks shared that he had no intentions of asking any of their players with no movement clauses, to waive their deals. The players in question included Jonathan Toews, Patrick Kane and Seth Jones.
Today it is being reported by David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period that Patrick Kane has intentions of meeting with Kyle Davidson shortly.
Can confirm Chicago, Patrick Kane and his agent will discuss Kane's future with the organization, again, in the very near future.
This likely represents the time that Kane will approach the franchise about moving him to a playoff bound team. At the deadline Kane was connected to both the Rangers and Avalanche so it will be interesting to see how the Blackhawks proceed.
