Bruins sign newly acquired dman to a massive extension

Yesterday the Boston Bruins acquired Hampus Lindholm in a huge trade with the Anaheim Ducks. Now today hockey insider, Chris Johnston revealed that the Bruins have officially signed the 28-year-old defenceman to a brand new 8-year contract extension with a annual salary of $6,500,000
Lindholm was a pending UFA that had many teams interested in his services, but those teams didn't want to pay what the Anaheim Ducks were asking in return. The Bruins were believed to be interested in Lindholm for a while and now Hampus Lindholm is a Boston Bruin long-term as they try take a run at the Stanley Cup.
Lindholm was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks 6th overall in 2012 he's played in 582 games all with the Ducks and has 57 goals and 165 assists in his career with a +74 rating. Lindholm is also a big guy at 6'4 and 214 lbs.
It is expected that he will join Charlie McAvoy, on the Bruins' top pairing going forward.
