Buffalo Sabres embarrass their own goalie on Thursday night

Last night the Dallas Stars accomplished one of the rarest feats in hockey, putting up 10 goals against the Buffalo Sabres. To think that this was an important game for Buffalo is laughable now when looking at the score, and further shows that they should've considered goaltending depth at the trade deadline. Instead, the Sabres let Eric Comrie get shelled for 10 against in a single game.
The game was already nearing a blowout after the score being 5-2 after the second period, and although the Sabres were able to put up two more of their own in the third, they conceded a laughable five against. Their building became empty quickly, with Stars fans actually coming up to ice level to witness their team put the finishing touches on a 10 goal win. As is normal in a blowout, the Stars don't celebrate, but what's more is their own look of surprise when yet another goal goes in.
The most bizarre aspect of the night was the fact that Eric Comrie was kept in and shelled for all 10 against. After a certain point, it's never a good look on the coach to not allow the starting goalie mercy. On a team that carries three goaltenders including Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Craig Anderson, there's really no excuse to leave your goalie out to dry for the entirety of a horrific team effort.
In reality, it's just the same as any other loss - but for a team with aspirations to make a serious playoff push in the final 20 games of the season, a performance like this on home ice is inexcusable in every way, and will take the wheels off any momentum the Sabres had prior to this game.
