Things have not gone as the Buffalo Sabres would've hope so far this season while being almost at the halfway point of the year. With waivers starting to wake up again after the holiday freeze.
It was announced earlier today that the Sabres have defender Lawrence Pilut on waivers this afternoon according to PuckPedia. Take a look:
Pilut, 26, has played in just 17 games with the Sabres this season collecting 1 goal and 2 assists for 3 points. He is an unrestricted free agent after this season.
Playing just 63 games across 4 years in the NHL is less than ideal and if he can't catch on with the Sabres of all teams chances are he won't find another home in the league.
Teams have until 2 pm eastern time tomorrow to make a claim, if that doesn't happen, he'll go down to the American Hockey League for what will likely be the remainder of the season unless the blueline runs into some injury trouble.
