Corey Perry gets fed multiple body shots by Michael Pezzetta
With 4 minutes and change left in the third period of a 4-0 game, Tampa Lightning forward Corey Perry was hot after taking a hit and wanted revenge. He grabbed ahold of Montreal Canadiens forward Michael Pezzetta.
The pair were having a staring contest when Perry landed a solid right to Pezzetta's face forcing him to engage. Perry landed a few more good ones on Pezzetta before breaking free and landing a few of his own. Pezzetta ultimately landed the last shot before they both fell to the ice.
The 24 year old Pezzetta has scored 2 goals and 3 points in 19 games this season. He doesn't produce many points but provides all out energy every shift and sticks up for teammates.
The 37 year old Perry has carved himself a solid role in Tampa in the twilight of his career. He continues to come up clutch in the playoffs. Since leaving Anaheim, Perry's put up 15 post-season goals over his three playoff runs. He's racked up more playoff games than anyone in that span, those 15 goals have come with Perry averaging just 13 and a half minutes of ice a night. In 33 games this season Perry has scored 5 goals and 14 points.
