Carey Price's wife's latest comments all but confirm his hockey career is over
Carey Price has stated on multiple occasions that he's doing everything in his power to return to the NHL. But that is always been a long shot. Now it seems even more likely that the veteran goaltenders career is over.
While Price will refuse to retire due to payment implications, it is very unlikely that he will ever pass an NHL physical again. Carey Price's wife Angela, was taking questions on her Instagram account from fans, when one fan asked about their future in Montreal.
Is your family staying in Montreal, or planning on living year-round in Kelowna?
The Price's have tried to remain in Montreal to be active around the team and taking part in things where possible. But players on long-term injury reserve aren't required to remain local, the same way Shea Weber hasn't remained in Montreal.
We will move back to the west. We both want to be close to our families. It's looking like we will most likely make the move this summer.
Both Carey and Angela were born on the West Coast so returning home makes a ton of sense for the couple.
Reports around the state continue to reveal that Carey Price's knee still isn't responding the way he'd like to treatment. Without being able to climb up and down stairs in his personal life, it's unlikely Price risks his health even one last time. The only remaining surgical option has such a low rate of success that Price told The Athletic that he may not risk another procedure.
If this is the end of his remarkable career, he will still go down as one of the best goalies of his era.
