Carolina Hurricanes Goaltending prospect Pyotr Kochetkov has had quite a season, and it's not quite over yet. The Penza, Russia native who was drafted in the second round, 36th overall in the 2019 National Hockey League entry draft had a stint earlier in the season with the Hurricanes where he started 19 games.

During that stretch, he went 10-4-5 with a .913 save percentage before being demoted to the Hurricanes American Hockey League affiliate Chicago Wolves.

Kochetkov is currently 13-5-2 in twenty games with the Wolves, but it's his play in the last five days that has everyone talking. Last Friday night while between the pipes for the Wolves, the twenty-three-year-old scored a goal with about three and half minutes left in their win versus the Manitoba Moose in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Minutes after scoring, Kotchetkov was involved in an incident when Moose captain Jimmy Oligny challenged him to a fight. Kotchetlkov was given a two-minute penalty for slashing, a ten-minute misconduct, and game misconduct for his efforts, while Oligny was given a two-minute penalty for slashing and a ten-minute misconduct.

Sunday during the rematch Kotchetkov was at it again, taking a two-minute penalty for tripping, ten-minute misconduct, and game misconduct, with less than a minute to play.

Needless to say, it's great to see a goaltender get fired up the way Kotchetkov did, it shows that he has a passion for the game, his team, and his teammates.
