When your team is up by a goal late, sometimes you have to find a way to control your temper. Unfortunately for the Seattle Kraken that wasn't a lesson learned by Carson Soucy. Not learning that lesson ultimately cost the Kraken big.

With less than 30 seconds remaining in the game, and the Kraken leading 2-1. Soucy was battling with Pierre-Luc Dubois in front of the net. Soucy quickly escalated the altercation when he opted to punch Dubois in the back of the head. Dubois dropped to the ice and Soucy was issued a 2-minute penalty for roughing.

Seconds into the powerplay Blake Wheeler would score his 300th career goal to tie the game, before Mark Scheifele would bury the game winner to close out the game in overtime. This comeback likely wouldn't have been possible without Soucy's awful decision making.

It wouldn't be surprising to hear the NHL Department of Player Safety call Soucy in for a hearing or at least announce he'll receive a fine for this play.
