When the Kyle Beach situation concluded the Blackhawks made a promise to their fans. That promise was to provide transparency through everything surrounding the organization. This was intended to avoid any embarrassing situations that could arise, the type that left fans feeling comfortable returning to the fan base.
Fast forward less than two years and it appears that transparency is already gone, at last according to Mark Lazerus, a Blackhawks reporter. Lazerus claims stem from the recent absence of Corey Perry.

When Lazerus asked Head Coach Luke Richardson about ending the wild speculation, he gave this answer.
Hopefully everything with Perry and his family is alright. Perry is fully entitled to his privacy and this situation is likely just exacerbated by the team he plays for. However, the Blackhawks need to find a way to manage this situation before it gets out of control.
