Connor McDavid gets blindsided by...Evander Kane?
While teams use the preseason to get their teams up to speed, it also comes with some inherent risks. Certain teams will hold out their star players, in hopes of avoiding what happened to Trevor Zegras earlier this week. Last night though the Oilers elected to dress Connor McDavid, Evander Kane and Leon Draisaitl amongst others.
During the 1st period the Oilers and their fans received a serious scare as it appeared that McDavid was injured. After McDavid turned in the neutral zone, he was run into hard by Evander Kane. The hit sent McDavid hard to the ice and be was slow to get up.
McDavid eventually made his way to the bench and was looked at by trainers. While Oilers fans waited with baited breath, it only took about 3 minutes for McDavid to hop back over the boards and back into play. The Oilers will likely think twice before dressing a nearly full lineup again.
