Dallas Stars could be at risk of facing an offer sheet as free agency nears
This year, more than ever, goalies have been sought after by many teams in the league. It seems like almost everyone is wanting to upgrade that position and the result is in teams considering weird and rare methods to potential acquire one.
While offer sheets don't occur often, this year's rumours appear to be surrounding Dallas Stars goalie, Jake Oettinger. According to hockey insider Pierre Lebrun, there are rumblings within the league about someone potentially offer-sheeting the Stars RFA.
Have heard some teams internally debating the merits of offer sheeting Jake Oettinger, who is coming off his entry level deal. Would imagine Stars would match absolutely anything. As Lebrun mentioned, the Stars are most likely going to immediately match the offer. Only question left is, what kind of offer sheet will Jake Oettinger get.
Given the current compensation structure it's difficult to see a situation where the Stars choose not to match.
