With Juuse Saros injured, the Nashville Predators will be relying on «Big Save Dave» in the first round of the playoffs. If Thursday night was a preview of what to expect from Rittich, the Predators are in trouble.
During the third period against the Colorado Avalanche, David Rittich made a big save on a two on one. The puck went over the net and bounced off the glass directly back toward the net. Rittich tried to make a baseball like catch but forgot where the net was. The goaltender ended up catching the puck, but not without knocking over the net and himself.
Rittich was okay and his teammates all had a nice chuckle.
