The Department of Player Safety has announced a punishment for Vancouver Canucks defender Tyler Myers after his actions in yesterday's game.
Last night when the Vancouver Canucks hosted the Columbus able Jackets a rather strange play happened on which defender Ian Cole was originally assessed a 5 minute major, it was recorded and given to Tyler Myers.
Now, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety has announced the punishment for Myers; take a look.
Vancouver's Tyler Myers has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for elbowing Columbus' Sean Kuraly. This was the right call in my mind, but it should've never been a major in the first place. Good on the Department of Player Safety for doing something about the elbow though.
