Team USA came up just a little bit short in the Four Nations tournament as Connor McDavid scored the overtime goal to secure the trophy for Canada.
It was not from a lack of trying though, as the Americans held an edge in play throughout the game, especially the overtime period, but Jordan Binnington stood tall, proving the doubters wrong.
One of his best saves of the game came against Brady Tkachuk, who was looking for his second of the night.
Now, a new video has emerged of Tkachuk cheering on his teammates from the Bench during the game.
He tried to inspire them by saying, "let's do it for Johnny," as he wanted to win the game for his late countryman.
Brady clearly wanted the win so badly as he was extremely passionate throughout the night, especially after he scored in the first period to tie the game at 1.
Furthermore, he had an excellent tournament overall as he scored three goals and was involved in one of the most famous fights in recent history.
Unfortunately, it just was not quite enough to secure the trophy.
Additionally, Tkachuk revealed more bad news after the tournament noting that his brother Matthew's injury could be rather serious.
That being said, Johnny and his brother Matthew would certainly be proud of the performance Brady and his teammates put up in the tournament.
They might have come up a little short in the end, but they played very well as a team and arguably deserved a better fate.
Sometimes the hockey gods just have something else in mind.
