Details leak about incident Mike Babcock had at his home with a young player over lunch
Mike Babcock stepped down as the Head Coach of the Columbus Blue Jackets on Sunday afternoon. Multiple reports assumed the decision was made to avoid additional details becoming public about Babcock's interactions with young members over the team. Unfortunately for Babcock it appears those details are still very much becoming public.
Today on the Spittin' Chiclets Podcast, Paul Bissonnette made it clear that there were more details the Blue Jackets have intentionally omitted. However those details have begun to leak online.
According to this report shared on Reddit and later shared by Pete Blackburn, the incident that occurred with Babcock and a young player at the coach's home over lunch.
Most surprisingly, apparently several of these incidents happened at Babcock's house. In at least one of the incidents reported to Whitney, a young player was invited for lunch, told to take out his phone, had Babcock flip through his photos and then told him to leave.. without lunch. He sounds like a sociopath.
According to Blackburn the these details align closely with what he'd heard from NHL circles. It is very likely additional details will continue to surface in the coming days, but luckily for players Babcock is definitely done in the NHL.
