Devils defenseman drops the gloves with Canadiens prospect after he lands a hit on top prospect
Some players have to find unique ways to set themselves apart from others at the NHL rookie showcase. Not every player is an elite scorer or playmaker, so players like John-Parker Jones need to seperate themselves in a different way. So far JPJ has used his size and physicality to do just that.
During last night's game Jones lined up Devils top prospect Simon Nemec for a hit. The hit knocked Nemec's helmet to the ice. Nikita Okhotiuk who is only 6'1 took it upon himself to send a message to the 6'7 Jones. Last season Okhotiuk famously fought his General Manager, Tom Fitzgerald's son in an AHL game.
Both men likely made an impression on their General Manager's showing an understanding of their roles.
