Edmonton Oilers finally get long awaited deal done as team signs member of their core
The Edmonton Oilers headed into this off season with very few question marks. For the most part, the teams roster was set and would look very similar to last season. Earlier this summer the Oilers did manage to add Connor Brown who is coming off a serious knee injury.
For most Oilers' fans the most important aspect of this summer however was locking up Evan Bouchard to a new deal. Today the Oilers finally managed to find some middle ground. After reports stated the two parties were not close.
Elliotte Friedman returned from his summer vacation to share the following news.
Sounds like EDM and Evan Bouchard closing in on 2x$3.9M
The Oilers and Bouchard have elected to agree on a bridge deal that will push the true negotiations down the road two years. With the salary cap expected to climb this is probably best for both parties at this time.
