Former NHL Draft Pick and coach in serious hot water
In the wake of the Mike Babcock scandal more and more information has begun to come out about other head coaches. While most claims go nowhere it appears that the WHL has opened an investigation into former Montreal Canadiens draft pick, Kevin Constantine.
Constantine was hired by the Wenatchee Wild this summer and similar to Babcock is already finding himself in hot water.
Being in hot water isn't anything new to Constantine who has found himself suspended as a coach twice before.
Worth noting that Kevin Constantine, who was just hired in July, has been previously suspended twice as a coach, including in the WHL.
The first was with Everett, when he was suspended four games and fined $5,000 for making his players (including scratched players who weren't dressed) eat their post-game meal and ride the bus home several hours in full gear.
The other was with the Flames in the NHL, when he and Guy Lapointe were both suspended after they went after a fan in the crowd.
The WHL made the official announcement today:
The Western Hockey League announced today, Kevin Constantine, Head Coach of the Wenatchee Wild, has been suspended pending an independent investigation into alleged violations of WHL Regulations and Policies.
Constantine was suspended on Sunday after the WHL's independent reporting channel received a complaint regarding his conduct. Constantine is not permitted to have any contact with any member of the organization, including players, while the matter is being investigated.
Constantine at this time is presumed innocent until proven guilty upon the completion of this investigation.
