This is something I definitely didn't have on my 2022 Bingo Card, but it appears some very interested parties have begun the process to potentially bring back the NHL to Atlanta. According to a Twitter account called "NHLtoAtlanta" a well-known former NHL is in search of investors in hopes of return the Thrashers to the NHL.

Anson Carter, who transitioned from playing to a broadcasting role is rumored to be the face behind this project. Carter played 10 season in the NHL with 8 different teams, none of which were the Thrashers.

Breaking News: NHL on TNT broadcast member Anson Carter is reportedly searching for investors for a NHL team in Atlanta. Carter has 674 games of NHL experience and has spent nearly a decade in broadcasting. Further details about this are currently unknown.

According to the account the information comes from the President of the Atlanta Gladiators, Jerry Games. The Gladiators are set to be the ECHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes this season. There were reports as well that Carter tried to stop the initial relocation from Atlanta to Winnipeg.

If the NHL returned to Atlanta it would be the third time the city was afforded a franchise. Having previously homed the Flames and Thrashers. Maybe third time is the charm?
