Former Olympic Gold Medalist decides to leave the NHL
When Team Finland captured the Gold Medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics they were backstopped by Harris Sateri. In 5 games at the Olympics Sateri put up a goals against average of 1.00 and a save percentage of .962.
It was that performance that encouraged the Toronto Maple Leafs to sign Sateri last season. Unfortunately for the Maple Leafs when Sateri was placed on waivers he was claimed by the Arizona Coyotes.
In 6 games with the Coyotes, Sateri put up a save percentage of .866 and a 4.22 goals against average.
Now it appears the NHL experiment is over for Sateri as he's decided to return to European Hockey.
Per his agent, Todd Diamond, G Harri Säteri had a deadline of today for a contract offer in the Swiss league so he has signed a 1-year deal to play with EHC Biel-Bienne next season.
According to Sateri's agent Todd Diamond, Sateri has signed a contract to play next season in the Swiss league.
