When watching professional athletes play, sometimes we fail to realize that they're playing a game for a living and the shelf life of their career is such that it can be over much sooner than anyone anticipated.

Such is the case with former Canadian World Junior goaltender Colton Point. Point, who was drafted by the Dallas Stars 128th overall in 2016 and participated in the World Junior Hockey Championships in 2018 suited up for three different teams during the course of his professional career across two separate leagues.

During his career Point played 29 games for the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League, finishing his career with an 11-12-1 career record. Most of his professional career was played in the East Coast Hockey League with the Idaho Steelheads and Fort Wayne Comets, where he played in 63 games. Point finished his ECHL career with a 21-24-7 record.

Unfortunately for Point concussions became an issue, as he suffered multiple over the last few seasons. This ultimately led to him prioritizing long-term health over his career. Hopefully Point finds success in whatever comes next for him.
