Anthony 'Rumble' Johnson was once considered one of the most promising fighters in the UFC. Unfortunately today it was announced that the 38-year-old former fighter has lost his long battle with an unknown illness.
Ariel Helwani announced the following on his Twitter account this afternoon:
Horrible news:
Anthony «Rumble» Johnson passed away today. He was 38 years old.
Johnson had been battling an illness for quite some time.
One of the hardest hitters and most talented fighters in MMA history. Gone way too soon.
May he rest in peace.
Johnson finished his MMA career with a career record of 23-6 including 17 knockouts.
As combat sports fans this news is sad to hear and our thoughts and prayers go out to the Johnson family, his training partners and anyone impacted by this loss.
