In the last few years, the Arizona Coyotes have managed to make it through scandal after scandal unscathed. It makes you wonder, how much Gary Bettman loves hockey in the desert, even though it's debatable if the franchise can support the financial obligations in the state itself.

No matter, Gary Bettman may be looking to gift the Coyotes another slam dunk and it's unfair. Keep in mind, other expansion teams have never had the opportunity to make mistake after mistake.

It's been said that the NHL will look to host an outdoor game in Arizona within the next 5 years.

After the Mullett Arena debacle, the NHL will continue to go to depths to protect this franchise that it wouldn't for a team like the Columbus Blue Jackets, even after they've landed Patrik Laine and Johnny Gaudreau.

"As long as you've got a spot to put your gear on and talk about the game, I mean, it really is a beautiful college hockey rink," Wheeler said. "I've played in way worse arenas for sure."

For a guy who's trying to grow the game, Bettman sure is a tactical screw-up.

Bettman has a slam dunk opportunity to negotiate with The Ohio State University to land a game in the Horseshoe against the Detroit Red Wings, but this is how he continues to waste NHL resources on a team that was evicted by its last arena.

Make it make sense.
