Hall of fame goaltender nearing return behind NHL bench
Patrick Roy is not only a Hall of Fame goaltender but also a decent coach. Having had a short stint in the National Hockey League being the bench boss of the Colorado Avalanche between 2013 and 2016, bettors returning to the Quebec Remparts and the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League
Fresh off a QMJHL Championship and booking their ticket to Memorial Cup, it seems Roy could be parting ways with the Remparts at season's end to pursue another NHL opportunity, according to TSN's Pierre LeBrun; take a look:
While Roy was known as a brash hard-nosed goaltender who would always say what's on his mind, nothing has really changed about him as a coach, he demands excellence and when he doesn't get it, he's not afraid to show or voice his displeasure.
With so many openings in the NHL currently, this would be the time for an NHL return if the fit and team is right. The question is, where would he go?
In any case, Roy could be a valuable asset should a team hire him and he's not afraid to change his systems or bark when need be.
