When you think of Edmonton Oilers captain Connor McDavid, you usually think of the best player in the world. There aren't many things that McDavid can't do, but one hockey analyst would like to see McDavid add at least one element to his game.
Sportsnet's Louis DeBrusk recently shared that he wishes that the Oilers' Captain would embellish calls to help draw penalties more often.
The officiating is all over the place lately stars like McDavid and others getting hacked and slashed. They need to do a better job at protecting the best players in the game, who again, Connor McDavid isn't an embellisher, and it kind of breaks my heart to have to say it every once in a while, you're going to have to use that to your advantage.
McDavid currently sits 1st in the league with 46 penalties drawn so I'm not sure he's in a position to ask for more penalties for be called on him. Especially at a time when referees are trying to crack down on embellishment and criticism against them.
