Last night, a scary scene unfolded in Detroit as Dylan Larkin was left laying motionless after he was cross checked by Ottawa Senators forward Mathieu Joseph. A melee ensued around Larkin and he was eventually able to skate off the ice with some assistance.
Now, NHL insider Kevin Weekes have provided the first update on Larkin and by all accounts it seems to be better news than they were expecting; take a look.
**Medical Update** ⛑️ 🚑
I'm told all scans are negative (clear) for
@DetroitRedWings
Captain Larkin. No timeframe for his return. #LGRW #HockeyTwitter #HockeyX #Michigan #PureMichigan
All scans came back clear, which means Larkin didn't sustain any serious injuries as a result of the crosscheck. Which is good news, however, there is no timetable for his return.
It sounds as if Larkin and the Detroit Red Wings dodged a bullet. We wish him all the best in his recovery.
