Insider provides update on Patrick Kane after success hip surgery
Executives and fans around the National Hockey League have known for some time that Patrick Kane had been dealing with a hip issue. Even when the New York Rangers acquired him near the trade deadline, they knew he had a bad hip injury.
After undergoing hip surgery 3 weeks ago , Charlie Roumeliotis of NBC Chicago has an update on Kane's recovery; take a look.
Patrick Kane's rehab process appears to be going quite well. He underwent hip surgery only three weeks ago and this is where he's at already. #Blackhawks
This is great to see for a few of reasons: 1) showing teams around the league that not only is he actively preparing for the upcoming season, but he'll most likely be okay and not a liability on his skates come next season j and 2) his progression is remarkable and barring a setback, will only keep getting better as time goes on, and 3) this is the first time in a long time that Kane has to prove he's deserving of a contract, and so far, he seems to be doing that.
Even at 34, with a bum hip hip, Kane has proved that he can still produce. In 73 games last season with the Blackhawks and New York Rangers, he had 21 goals and 36 assists for a total of 57 points. If his hip continues to recover like it's showing above, there's no reason Kane can't return to a dominant force in the league.
