Insider reveals just how much money Dylan Larkin wants from the Detroit Red Wings, and it's a lot
If the Detroit Red Wings want to return to the glory days, they may have to do it without their captain.
While it's no secret Larkin has been frustrated at times with the organization; the Waterford, Michigan native whose contract expires at the end of the season is believed to be looking for a contract of eight years at an AAV of $9,000,000.
Larkin who became the captain of the Red Wings January 12, 2021 has 162 goals, along with 239 assists for 401 points in 551 games.
Steve Yzerman, who captained the Red Wings from 1986 until his retirement in 2006 was hired as the teams General Manager on April 19, 2019. He was partly responsible for the Tampa Bay Lightnings most recent success as he drafted the likes of Nikita Kucherov & Andrei Vasilevskiy amongst others.
In 47 games this season Larkin has contributed 15 goals and 28 assists. This season is the first season since his rookie season that he's on pace to be on the right side of a +/- season.
