Tonight's packed NHL schedule features one game as unquestioned marquee matchup - the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins. Two teams with a storied history between them, respectively at the peak of their franchise heights, and looking for a statement win heading into the playoffs. So far, the game hasn't disappointed as an intense, tight-checking, playoff style game, complete with the typical physicality.

Early in the first period, Leafs forward Sam Lafferty was looking to spark his team by initiating the physical play. Lafferty rubbed out his man along the boards, a seemingly clean hit, that incensed the response of nearby Bruin AJ Greer.

Greer was able to land a few punches early on, but ultimately, Lafferty wrestled him down the ice in a rag doll fashion. Lafferty himself was clearly energized tonight, as later on in the game he scored the opening goal to give the Leafs a 1-0 lead.

Earlier on the game featured another classic moment usually shared in Leafs vs. Bruins games, that being a display of insanity from Bruins' homer announcer Jack Edwards. This time, as the Bruins took a hooking penalty against Auston Matthews, Edwards implied the league directs favourable refereeing for the Leafs. Of course, the league is rigged in favour of the famous dynasty Maple Leafs.

With tonight being a tightly contested, physical, defensive game, it's looking to serve as a playoff preview if these two teams were to meet in round two.
