Playing in the NHL is not an easy thing to do on a regular basis. Plenty of players come and go and there now is another name that has left the league at a young age. Jake Virtanen was previously on a professional tryout with the Edmonton Oilers during the preseason, but he was unable to secure a contract.
Jake Virtanen, who was on PTO with the Oilers this summer but ultimately failed to make the team, has signed with EHC Visp of the second-tier Swiss league.
Jake Virtanen was drafted in the 1st round of the 2014 Draft, 6th overall by the Vancouver Canucks. He played a total of 6 seasons for the Canucks until a sexual assault allegation was filed against him. Earlier this year though Virtanen was found not guilty before receiving his tryout offer from the Oilers.
