The Arizona Coyotes have been trying to make a deal that would see young defender Jakob Chychrun leave for some time now and it appears that a deal with another team is close, but they've hit a snag.
According to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet, there's a deal in place that would send Chychrun to the Los Angeles Kings, however there's a contract that needs to be moved out.
The player in question is not a main piece to the deal, but is a contract that needs to go the other way for it to work out. One of the teams wants the player to move, without that happening, it looks like the deal to the Kings will fall apart.
Chychrun, 24, has missed some time this season due to injury, however he's put up 28 points in 36 games with the Coyotes so far this season including 7 goals and 21assists.
If this is the reason Chychrun doesn't end up a King, I'm sure both front offices would be frustrated. With the trade deadline just 15 days away, something has to give.
