Last night when the Calgary Flames took on the Columbus Blue Jackets Jonathan Huberdeau got kicked out for a dirty hit on Jack Roslovic

Last night, the Calgary Flames faced off against the Columbus Blue Jackets in Calgary. This would turn out to be a rather heated game after a Flames star player crushed a Blue Jackets player into the boards, leaving him writhing on the ice in pain.

With less than 10 minutes to go in the 3rd period and the Blue Jackets leading 3-2, Jonathan Huberdeau absolutely drills Jack Roslovic from behind; take a look.

Here is a closer look at the Huberdeau hit on Roslovic

As a result of the hit, Huberdeau was assessed a 5 minute major and a game misconduct on the play, while Roslovic would go to the locker room and was left with a rather sizeable cut, presumably from his visor.

This is a hit that cannot happen, Huberdeau came from across the ice, saw the numbers and decided to drive through Roslovic anyway.

The NHL's Department of Player Safety should have a busy morning today and Huberdeau should be suspended for a hit like that. There's no place in the game for it.
