Jordan Binnington tries to check Jordan Staal, but gets run over instead
Jordan Binnington has a reputation for crossing the line, but so far he hasn't received any consequences for his actions. That was until tonight. Tonight Binnington finally realized that his attempts to injure skaters wouldn't go unpunished.
As the Hurricanes dump in the puck it is followed by Jordan Staal. Binnington comes out of his net to play the puck, but instead decides to try and check Staal instead. Unfortunately for Binnington, Staal had other ideas.
Staal instead delivered a hit of his own sending Binnington to the ice.
The referees didn't issue a penalty on the play and rightfully so. The Canes went onto win this game 6-4 and Binnington finally got a taste of his own medicine. A good night if I do say so myself.
