Goalie fights have become less common over the last decade, but every once and awhile we get two goalies ready to drop their gear and give their teams a spark. That's exactly what happened for two players in this Saskatchewan Junior B league.

On Sunday the Saskatoon Royals shutout the Carrot River Outback Thunder, but the game was highlighted by a goalie fight. During the second period goaltender Brayden Schenstead decided that despite pitching a shutout he wanted to drop the gloves with the Carrot River goalie.

The two met at center ice and dropped their gear for a spirited tilt that a fan captured on camera.

When all was said and done Schenstead ended up with what the team is calling a "Goalie Gordie Howe Hat Trick. Schenstead finished with the win, a shutout and 15 minutes in penalties. It's great to see the fighting spirit alive and well with the next generation of hockey players.
