After the Seattle Kraken selected their team during the Expansion Draft it was clear that they'd put their sights on the future and didn't intend to contend immediately like the Vegas Golden Knights. After drafting both Chris Dreidger and Vitek Vanecek it seemed like the Kraken had their goaltending tandem.

So it was surprising for a lot of people when the Kraken went out and spent big money to sign Philipp Grubauer. That signing hasn't worked out the way Seattle had hoped, with Grubauer posting a 18-39-5 record with a 3.09 goals against average and a .891 save percentage.

The struggles of the season may have gotten to Grubauer, who last night decided to so something uncharacteristic. With the Wild leading 6-3 in the 3rd period Kraken's Adam Larsson and Kevin Fiala were racing to the puck towards Grubauer and out of nowhere Philipp Grubauer stepped up and delivered a check to Fiala.

A scrum would break out after and Grubauer was not penalized on the play, but Adam Larsson did receive a 2-minute penalty for holding.
