Kraken goalie suffers significant injury that could sideline him for nearly a year
The Seattle Kraken are going to be without backup netminder Chris Driedger for the foreseeable future. He tore his ACL in the third period of the World Hockey Championships on may 29th.
According to the Kraken's Twitter account, Driedger underwent successful knee surgery on June 6th to repair his ACL, and the recovery time is expected to be anywhere between 7 and 9 months.
Driedger, 28, didn't have a good season with Seattle, he settled on 914-1 record with a 2.96 goals against average and an .899 save percentage in 24 games played this year.
Nonetheless, this has to call into question how many teams should let valuable members of their organizations go to the Men's World's to represent their countries. In the large scheme of things, Seattle can't be too happy they're without their de facto number 2 goaltender for a long period of time
