The Toronto Maple Leafs are playing the Boston Bruins tonight and the rivalry is alive and well. The game hasn't gone the way the Leafs would've hoped to this point and as such, an energy boost was needed.
With 17:45 remaining in the 3rd period after the Bruins third goal, Wayne Simmonds was sent out to send a message and send a message he did. Take a look:
Simmonds and A.J Greer drop the gloves right after Greer scored to make it 3-1. Simmonds tagged Greer before the two even tied up and from there, Simmonds just took the rest of the fight fairly easily.
Greer did end up going to the dressing room, presumably as a result of the first punch.
Greer has appeared to return to the Bruins bench as per the Sportsnet broadcast.
