The past couple seasons have not been kind to the Vegas Golden Knights or their captain Mark Stone and now it appears things have only gotten worse.
According to Jesse Granger of The Athletic, Stone is out indefinitely after undergoing back surgery yesterday. Take a look:
Stone, 30, last played on January 12th against the Florida Panthers before going on the shelf once again. In 43 games this season with the Golden Knights, he has 17 goals and 21 assists for a total of 38 points.
This is Stone's second major back surgery in under 12 months. This is awful news for the Golden Knights captain and at this point, you have to wonder if his career is over.
Only time will tell if this is indeed the end for Stone, but at what point do you prioritize quality of life over trying to make it back into the lineup?
