Major update on Vladimir Tarasenko's NHL future after contract appears to fall through
After splitting last season between the St. Louis Blues and New York Rangers, Vladimir Tarasenko became an unrestricted free agent. Rumors swirled earlier his week that Tarasenko had agreed to a contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. This deal had been reported by Twitter user hayyyshayy, who has a history of breaking NHL deals.
It sounds like Tarasenko will be signing with the Hurricanes
But no announcement ever came. Not from the Hurricanes or from Tarasenko's camp. Now it appears that while the Hurricanes remain an option, they have yet to close a deal for Tarasenko.
According to Andy Strickland of the Cam & Strick Podcast, Tarasenko is still mulling over multiple offers.
Tarasenko still considering multiple options
Tarasenko has certainly lost a step, buy he is one year removed from from scoring 34 goals and certainly still has some very productive years left in him. Tarasenko has been primarily connected to the Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators and Carolina Hurricanes.
Tarasenko is so disappointed with the process be went as far as to fire his agent.
