Matt Murray has a refused a trade to one Eastern Conference team and agreed to accept for another
With the emergence of Anton Forsberg in goal for the Ottawa, the Senators are looking to move Matt Murray. Murray currently has 2-years remaining on his deal with a cap hit of $6,250,000 per year. With the Senators looking to take the next step in their rebuild, clearing as much cap space as possible makes sense.
According to Elliotte Friedman, the Ottawa Senators were involved in deep trade talks to trade Matt Murray, but Murray refused a deal and invoked his no trade clause.
Hearing OTT & BUF were deep into conversations about a Matt Murray trade. Sabres are on his No-trade list, and Murray � as his his contractual right � stuck to his list.
It doesn't appear that's the end of the trade talks though as Bruce Garrioch, who covers the Senators has agreed to accept a trade to the Toronto Maple Leafs if a deal can be worked out.
