July hasn't been a good month if you're a Calgary Flames fan. It began with Johnny Gaudreau leaving for the Columbus Blue Jackets via free agency.
Then Matthew Tkachuk would inform the Flames his intentions to move on, causing him to be traded to the Florida Panthers for a package that included Jo Jonathan Huberdeau, Mackenzie Weegar, Cole Schwindt, and a first round draft pick.
However, many believed that Tkachuk would follow his father Keith's foot steps and play for the St Louis Blues, but that trade didn't come to come to fruition.
We have learned now that the smoke has cleared there were two other teams that were in on the Matthew Tkachuk sweepstakes they were the St Louis Blues who offered Jordan Kyrou, Torey Krug, and a first round draft pick a offer the Flames decided not to accept that offer.
The other team involved was the Carolina Hurricanes, But no word on what the Hurricanes offered but obviously wasn't enough because Tkachuk is now a Florida Panther.
