Milan Lucic takes stab at Calgary despite being traded just a week ago
Last Saturday was one of the biggest sports news days of the year for hockey fans; the internet was buzzing with all kinds of trade talk. Then, finally, we all saw that Milan Lucic, after three seasons with the Flames, had been traded to the team he won a Stanley Cup withthe Boston Bruins. It was an amazing day for Boston fans everywhere.
Just a week after that, it was revealed that Lucic had some less-than-favorable things to say about the city he'd spent the last few seasons in. According to @dashinthepark on Twitter, Lucic is quoted saying some things like:
It's a smaller city, there's not much going on other than the Flames.
Even though we all love the Dome, it's old. That's the main thing.
Not trying to sound totally harsh, he also throws in that he's
just trying to give [you] an honest answer about what guys are thinking about.
Surely Lucic didn't mean to throw so much shade on the city he's been in for the past few years. Personal opinions and bizarre internet drama aside, Lucic is a tough player who got the job done in Calgary and will probably continue to do so back home in Boston.
