The Montreal Canadiens have been struggling this year to say the least and it would appear that the hits keep on coming. Near the bottom of the standings, it won't get any better anytime soon.
Among other injury news the first overall pick in the last NHL draft Juraj Slafkovsky will be sidelined for a significant amount of time with a lower body injury according to TSN's Kenzie Lalonde.
Slafkovsky, 18 has not lived up to the expectations of a first overall pick this season, scoring just 10 points in 39 games played for the Canadiens this season, which includes 4 goals and 6 assists.
Even still, this is a tough break for the rookie who hasn't seemed o be able to get his footing at the National Hockey League level as of yet.
Montreal is in the middle of presumably trying to tank for the consensus number one overall pick in this summers draft, Connor Bedard and while this might sound bleak, the injuries will help with that.
