NHL Insider reveals full details of Patrick Kane's contract including how much he'll make
Earlier this morning, NHL Insider Chris Johnston revealed that the Detroit Red Wings had won the Patrick Kane sweepstakes. Kane agreed to join the Blackhawks long-time rival to play alongside good friend Alex DeBrincat. Initially details of the contract were scarce, but Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet has official revealed the details of his contract.
Sounds like Kane deal is one year at $2.75M
Pierre LeBrun confirmed this details, while also confirming this deal is paid entirely salary and there was no signing bonus in the deal.
Kane's one year, $2.75 M deal in Detroit is all salary. No bonuses.
The deal surprisingly doesn't include any trade protection and will allow the Red Wings to trade Kane without his permission if they fall out of a playoff spot. With Kane coming off hip resurfacing surgery there is no risk at all to the Red Wings, who had the cap space readily available for the Superstar.
