NHL Makes 2024 Trade Deadline Date Official; Fixes Past Issue

The NHL has set the official date for the 2024 trade deadline, while also ensuring the schedule of games on that date doesn't interfere with any transactions taking place.
The league has set set Friday, March 8th, 2024 as the official deadline date for the upcoming season, with the cutoff time at 3 PM ET. There are four games on the schedule on that day, but all will start at 9 PM ET or later, leaving plenty of time in between the get everything sorted out.
The schedule is also considerably lighter than last year's deadline, when there were 12 games. That meant 24 teams dealt with games on the same day when GMs were making trades while consulting with coaches and other staff. This helps alleviate that issue for most.
